Jonny Gray, the owner of Derby-based companies Work Wallet and Greendog Media, is in Majorca for the mammoth cycling challenge, the inaugural event of the ‘Derbados Cycle Tours 2019’.
Jonny joins other Derby based business leaders, including Dean Jackson of HUUB and David Torrington of Sky Recruitment Solutions, to cycle nearly 200km through the Spanish island this weekend to raise money for Annabel’s Angels and the Derbyshire Institute of Sport.
Annabel’s Angels raises funds for and supports patients, carers and families living with cancer in Derby. The Derbyshire Institute of Sport supports Derbyshire’s athletes to become champions and gives them the best chance of becoming world-class. Both causes rely totally on donations and fundraising initiatives such as the cycle challenge.
For those who are unable to cycle in Spain, the challenge is also open on a local level. The team are encouraging people back home in Derbados to also take up the 193km cycle challenge throughout April, either on their own or as part of a team, out on the road or in the gym.
“I am never one to shy away from a challenge, particularly when it is to support two such fantastic local charities. The bonus of this one though is it is in the sunshine!
“I am looking forward to being in Majorca and putting the Derbyshire business and charity communities on the map. The support so far has been fantastic so thank you to everyone.
“For those who aren’t able to join us in Majorca, I encourage you to get involved back home and raise as much money as possible for these causes, whilst also getting fitter, healthier and having fun cycling as a team.”
