Why do I need a health and safety management system?

You are legally required (for instance, by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and ISO 45001) to ensure the health and safety of your employees. A health and safety management system is not in itself a legal requirement. However, it will be invaluable in helping you meet your legal and regulatory obligations.

Using a health and safety management system will be more efficient, for instance by making it easier to identify hazards and take steps to resolve them. Evidencing regulatory compliance will be simpler as well.
