As the year draws to a close, we are taking a little bit of time to reflect on a year of successes for Work Wallet.

Looking back at 2021

2021 has been a challenging year for everyone, personally and professionally, throughout the UK and around the world. It has been no different for Work Wallet, but we are proud to have risen to the challenge. We are able to look back on a year of improvements and successes in 2021. Here are some of our highlights.

Advanced safety solutions

permit to work appIn a global pandemic, people have been remote from their workplaces and minimising physical contact wherever possible. Therefore embracing digital technology and transition has never been more important.

Our Chief Executive, Jonny Gray, discussed this theme during a well-received presentation to industry peers. He gave this at the Safety in Construction trade exhibition in Loughborough in October. This was the team’s first physical outing in a long time!

We have always been proud of our health and safety software app technology. Our digital, mobile-first approach to helps people to connect their people, places and processes. Together we pursue better workplace safety.

We are always improving our offer and service for our clients. We put significant development resource into new modules and enhancements to our existing features this year, including:

  • NEW: Permit to Work

Enabling users to get an instant, real-time view and updates of site permits. See at a glance which permits are currently open, with helpful alerts and reminders of upcoming or expired documents.

  • NEW: Site Diary

Easily see all your health and safety site activity recorded in one place, from inducted contractors, expiring permits, and completed audits. It includes additional elements such as weather forecasts accurate to the hour. Automatic feeds from all other connected modules means you keep an accurate diary of your events.

  • NEW: Site Gateway

This digital self-service tool onboards visitors and contractors before they arrive on site. Consequently, it boosts productivity by shifting face-to-face compliance processes online – including Inductions, Briefings and issuing Permits to Work. It frees up your valuable time for other site management essentials.

  • ENHANCED: Risk Assessments

Our most popular module now includes flexible formatting bespoke method questions, and flexible templates. Tailored question can now be included, to better reflect the needs of your business. Question responses auto-populate RA page content at the start (prefix) or end (suffix) of the document.

  • ENHANCED: Audits & Inspections

Users now have greater choice of configurability and question scoring options in their audits and inspections. The data collected better reflects users' specific needs if required. This includes: percentage grading and scoring; base scoring and quality scoring; custom bandings for score results; and our new ‘tag a checklist’ option which helps to manage audits and inspections more easily.

Award-win successes in 2021

Best Digital Transformation - DerbyshireLive Business Awards for health and safety management

We were thrilled that our hard work in 2021 has seen us win not one but two awards this year:

Industry peers have therefore recognised Work Wallet for providing excellent products and service, and maintaining high standards, and supporting industry in overcoming the challenges it faces.

New clients, and new partnerships

Work Wallet is in partnership with Blood BikesWork Wallet has steadily taken on clients throughout the year, as more and more businesses embrace the need for digital services and have selected our best-in-class products to do so.

Health and safety is an important consideration for everyone. Consequently, this is reflected in the breadth of new clients we have had the pleasure of onboarding in 2021. They come from a range of sectors and industries, from small community organisations and charities to large corporates.

SMAS partnership with Work WalletWe were very pleased to kick the year off by providing our market-leading products to support Derbyshire Blood Bikes. The local charity provides an urgent medical courier service to the NHS in Derbyshire, its riders traveling thousands of miles across the East Midlands delivering blood to hospitals and critical medicines to patients at home.

In September, we also officially launched a partnership with SMAS Worksafe – one of the largest SSIP safety schemes in the UK. Consequently, over 25,000 SMAS members now get a free subscription to Work Wallet's Essentials modules: Audits and Inspections, Incident and Accident Reporting, Job Management, and Safety Briefings.

Expanding our team

Our last highlight but by no means the least, shows that our commitment to maintaining and improving our service for clients goes well beyond our tech.

No business succeeds without great people working for it. Therefore, that’s why we’ve invested in our employees, expanding our Client Support team, our Development capabilities, and our Marketing and Communications function.

There was unprecedented pressure on the UK workforce this year, but we are pleased to have bucked the trend and taken on more staff, adding to our successes in 2021.

In the true spirit of a digital-first business, we have embraced home working and been able to take people on from all over the country as a result – though we remain committed to sourcing our suppliers and contractors from our local area in Derby, UK. We also maintain links with the University, giving students vital work experience and post-qualification employment opportunities.

Looking ahead to 2022

Our successes in 2021 give us a great foundation to from which to work and drive further improvements in the coming year.

We will straightaway be kicking the new year off with further tech improvements to some of our existing modules, so keep an eye out for more information on that soon!
